Is breakfast included in my stay?Lydgate House Cottage is a self-catering retreat, the kitchen is fully equipped with all you need including a Delonghi coffee machine for that fresh morning cup of coffee and a dishwasher so no more arguing about who’s turn it is to wash up. If you would like to completely relax you can enjoy breakfast in the hotel. Please read on to how you can upgrade your stay to include dining options in the hotel or delivered to the cottage. 8. What dining options are available?Lydgate House Hotel offers exclusive dining for guests who opt for one of our Silver, Gold, or Platinum enhancements. Our carefully curated menu features locally sourced ingredients. Afternoon Tea is also available by prior booking. To ensure availability, we recommend booking your dining experience as early as possible. 10. Can you recommend scenic walks or local experiences?Certainly! Dartmoor is a walker’s paradise, with routes to suit all abilities. Whether you’re looking for a gentle riverside stroll or a more adventurous hike up a tor, we are happy to provide personal recommendations. For a truly immersive experience, we can also prepare a delicious Lydgate lunch to take on your adventure.

12. What wildlife might I see around the cottage?Step outside, and you’re in the heart of Dartmoor’s wild beauty. From majestic buzzards soaring overhead, nature is all around. Keep an eye out for the famous Dartmoor ponies and, if you're lucky, a shy deer wandering through the grounds.

13. Do you offer Picnic’s?Yes! We can prepare freshly made Picnic upon request—choose from a Ploughman’s lunch or a hearty soup in a flask with homemade sourdough, perfect for exploring Dartmoor.

14. Are pets allowed at the cottage?We regret that pets are not permitted, but service animals are always welcome.

15. Are there laundry facilities?While the cottage does not have a washing machine, we offer a convenient laundry service at Lydgate House Hotel. For £10 per load, we’ll take care of washing and drying for you, brought back, dry fully folded or on hangers, just let us know if you’d like to use this service.

16. What if I need to cancel my stay?A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, with the full balance due 8 weeks before arrival. Once the balance is paid, it is non-refundable. As plans can change, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind.

17. Do you offer gift vouchers?Yes! We offer beautifully presented Afternoon Tea and Accommodation Vouchers. A thoughtful gift for any special occasion. Each voucher can be personalised and sent directly to your door.
